- The geometric series 2, 4, 8, 16, ... has a common ratio of 2.
- Financial calculations often use geometric series to model compound interest.
- Convergence of a geometric series occurs when the absolute value of the common ratio is less than 1.
- The geometric series 3, 6, 12, 24, ... shows exponential growth with a common ratio of 2.
- In a geometric series, if the common ratio is greater than 1, the series will diverge.
