a gambling card game, often played in casinos, in which two or more punters play against the banker
Baccarat is a popular casino card game that is played between two hands: the "player" hand and the "banker" hand. The goal is to bet on which hand will have a total value closest to 9. Cards are dealt to both hands, and each card has a specific value: cards 2 through 9 are worth their face value, 10s and face cards, king, queen, jack, are worth 0, and aces are worth 1. The total value of each hand is calculated by adding the values of the cards, with only the last digit counted. For example, a hand with a 7 and 8 would have a total of 5, because the last digit of 15 is 5. Players can bet on the player hand, the banker hand, or a tie.
