He is very smart and likes to read. But, his stepfather is very strict and does not like David. David feels sad and alone. He has some friends at school, but he misses his mother. Sometimes, he dreams of a better life. David wants to be happy and find his place in the world. Despite his problems, he tries to stay strong. His childhood is not easy, but he learns many important lessons.
