(1/100) Pride and Prejudice: Social Class
In Jane Austen's book, 'Pride and Prejudice', social class is very important. Elizabeth Bennet is from a middle-class family. Mr. Darcy is very rich. Their different classes create problems. Mr. Darcy is proud of his wealth. He thinks he is better than Elizabeth because she has less money. But Elizabeth is smart and strong. She does not care about his money. She wants love, not wealth. In the story, we learn that love is more important than money. The story shows us that people can change. Mr. Darcy learns to be kinder and to love Elizabeth for who she is, not for her money. This lesson is important today because true love is not about class or money.
