He wants revenge on the Lintons and the Earnshaws. He becomes very rich and returns to Wuthering Heights. Heathcliff's love for Catherine is strong, but his revenge causes a lot of pain to everyone. The themes of love and revenge are important in this story. Readers can see how love can change and how revenge can hurt people. Wuthering Heights teaches us that love does not always bring happiness. Sometimes, revenge can lead to sadness and loss.
