Dorian Gray is a young man who is very handsome. He loves looking at himself. He thinks he is perfect. One day, he sees a painting of himself. The painting looks very good. Dorian wishes he could always be young and beautiful. He does not want to get old. He wishes that the painting would get old instead of him. Dorian becomes very selfish. He begins to care only about his looks. He does many bad things to stay beautiful. But his heart is sad. In the end, Dorian learns that vanity can hurt him. His beauty cannot save him from the bad things he does. The story teaches us that being vain is not good.
